Why Letters?
I love getting a letter. I like finding something other than direct mail in my mailbox. I like the feel of the envelope and the design of the stamp. I like the anticipation of opening the letter and finally I love reading the letter.
In this age where we can barely look up from our phones, having someone take the time to focus on you and write a letter to you is getting rare. When it happens, we should value it. How to value it? Write a letter back.
I am old enough to remember playing turn-by-turn games via USPS mail. Let me tell you, it was exciting to get the next move in the mail.
I can remember large lines at the post office during Christmas and getting a stack of Christmas cards.
Texting is faster for sure, but if you want someone to know you care, write them a letter. You never know, they may put it in a shoebox and keep it in the back of the closet forever. You can't spray perfume on a text.
